Daan founded Altruïs in 2020 together with two other co-founders. They started by building responsibly designed websites for clients. With respect to privacy and the environment, they created transparent and eco-friendly websites.

From September 2021 to June 2022 Altruïs joined the 'We Are Founders Start-Up Acceleration program', with Google and BeCentral as partners. During this time Altruïs pivoted from web design to helping people and organisations with digital well-being. After this intense rollercoaster, the other two co-founders went their own way and Daan kept the company.
Since then, Daan has been surfing the digital well-being waves. He gives lectures and workshops on how to find a healthy relationship with digital technologies in our daily lives.
